Outlander drives in

Sunday May 10, 2009

As we reckoned Hindustan and Mitsubishi Motors have launched the Outlander in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 20.0 lakh. The SUV is only available with a 2.4 liter petrol engine mated to a six-speed CVT gearbox with paddle shifters. The 170bhp mill runs on Mitsubishi’s patented Mitsubishi’s Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control and Intelligent and Innovative Vehicle Electronic Control System technologies. The outlander comes with an electronically controlled 4WD system which allows the driver to toggle between 2WD, 4WD lock mode. The interiors are fully loaded with climate and cruise control, reverse parking sensors, multi information display system, security alarm, electronically adjustable heated seats. The package includes the superb top of the line 650W Rockford- Fosgate music system. Safety has been given top priority with Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution, dual airbags, ABS plus EBD and an engine immobilizer. Available in six rather vibrant colors: River blue, silver dew, cascade white, sunrise yellow, pasture green, new moon black and Twilight red, the outlander will have a tough time battling it out with the king of the segment, the Honda CR-V and the only diesel player, the Chevrolet Captiva.
