An option called rear bench seat plus is offered which enables the rear row to slide in front by 10cm, enhancing the load carrying capability. The mantra of enhanced practicality is carried over to the interiors as well, with numerous storage compartments, drink holders, bottle holders and power outlets are peppered across the interiors. Queue up for the Q5
Posted by | Under Audi Thursday Sep 10, 2009Audi’s long awaited rival to the BMW X3 has finally arrived in the form of Q5. Slotted one rung below the Q7, Audi’s baby SUV was unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show and is expected to be on sale in Europe by the end of this year. Going by first impressions, this five seater looks more like an A6 with a jacked up ride height rather than a full bore SUV. Which isn’t a surprise since the crossover is based on the same MLP modular chassis that underpins the A4 and A5. The Q5 sports almost similar dimensions of the A4 measuring a nifty 4.63 metres in length a shade less than A4’s 4.70 metres and an almost identical width at 1.88 metres. The Q5 reflects Audi’s efforts to break away from the butch styling implemented on the Q7. The Q5 is positioned as an environmentally friendly vehicle for the urban dweller. But behind the sophistication lies a toughie which wouldn’t break into sweat when urged to get down n dirty.
Audi’s A4 concept E and A1 sportback
Posted by | Under Audi Monday Aug 10, 2009Bearing the flag of Audi’s commitment to the environment was the A4 Concept E. The diesel A4 TDI concept E offers fuel consumption of 3.99L/100km and a CO2 output of 105g/km while still managing to accelerate from 0-100km/h in a respectable 10.7sec with a top whack of over 200km/h. The real stars of the show were Audi’s Le Mans personalities.
The new A1 sportback is a slightly disguised version of Audi’s mini rival. Slightly bigger in five door guise than the Mini, Audi is presenting the A1 as the optimum fusion of practically and aspiration value. There were some showcar bits that won’t make it on the production model, nonetheless the A1 Sportback made it quite clear as to how the production version will look like. Apart from the three and five door hardtops, Audi is also planning a soft-top convertible version. The car will feature an array of punchy Audi direct injection powerplants.

Posted by | Under Audi Thursday May 14, 2009Audi India launched the new A4 in the country a few months ago via the completely built up unit route. Audi AG has recently announced that they will begin the car’s production in India during 2009. The German carmaker plans to manufacture about 11,000 units of the Audi A4 by 2015. The A4 will now come to the Indian market through the Completely knocked down production channel. The sedan will be assembled at the company’s plant in Aurangabad in accordance with international quality standards of Audi AG. Since the plant’s infrastructure is already in place, production of the A4 has commenced two months ahead of schedule. Audi has seen a growth of over 190 percent during this year and is expected to sell a total of more than 1000 units in the coming fiscal,of which the A4 is likely to be the highest contributor to the sales figure. By 2015, Audi aims to sell almost 10,000 units per annum. With an investment of more than three crore euros for the production site, Audi is all set to achieve its target. We expect the price of the A4 to drop considerably once the assembly of the luxury sedan begins in India.
